Snapscribe - Offline Screenshot Manager
Snapscribe does NOT have internet permission. The app literally cannot send any data anywhere. All processing happens 100% on your device.
Welcome to Snapscribe ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains our data practices for the Snapscribe mobile application (the "App").
Snapscribe is a 100% offline screenshot management application that uses on-device OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to extract and organize text from your screenshots. The app is designed with privacy as its core principle.
Key Point: Snapscribe does not include the INTERNET permission in its Android manifest. This means the app is technically incapable of connecting to the internet or transmitting any data.
Unlike most apps, Snapscribe collects absolutely no data from you. Here's what we explicitly do NOT do:
Snapscribe stores the following data locally on your device only in an encrypted SQLite database:

All this data remains exclusively on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.
Snapscribe requests only the minimum permissions necessary:
Required to read screenshot images from your device storage for OCR processing.
Optional permission to read banking notifications for automatic transaction detection. You can deny this permission.
Optional permission for fingerprint/face unlock to secure the app and vault.
Note: We explicitly do NOT request INTERNET permission. This is intentional and ensures your data cannot be transmitted.
Snapscribe uses Google ML Kit Text Recognition V2 for OCR. Here's how it works:

Your data is protected by multiple layers of security:
Biometric or passcode protection for app access
Additional protection for sensitive screenshots
Automatic deletion of sensitive data (OTPs, passwords)
Data protected by your device's built-in encryption
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:
Access: View all your data anytime within the app
Export: Export your data from Settings
Delete: Clear all data from Settings → Clear Data
Uninstall: Uninstalling the app removes all app data
Note: Since we don't have your data on any server, there's nothing for us to delete. All deletion happens locally on your device.
Snapscribe does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since the app works entirely offline and stores data only on the user's device, there are no COPPA compliance concerns.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
